Before You Start

Proper preparation ensures a smooth import process:

Template Fields Explained

Required Fields
  • Name: Unique identifier for each rabbit
  • Sex: Must be "Buck" or "Doe"
Optional but Recommended
  • Breed: Standardize breed names
  • DOB: Use MM/DD/YYYY format
  • Status: Active, Sold, Deceased, etc.
Data Format Requirements
  • Dates: MM/DD/YYYY or YYYY-MM-DD
  • Weights: Numbers only (4.5, not "4.5 lbs")
  • Sex: "Buck" or "Doe" (not M/F or Male/Female)
  • Status: Active, Sold, Deceased, Butchered

Step 3: Prepare Your Data

  1. Copy your data into the template columns
  2. Match column headers exactly as shown
  3. Remove any formulas - paste values only
  4. Save as CSV or keep as Excel (.xlsx)

Importing from Specific Software

  1. In Evans Software, go to File � Export
  2. Choose CSV Format
  3. Select All Records
  4. Save the file to your computer
  5. Upload to BunnySync using the CSV import option
Note: Evans uses different date formats. BunnySync will auto-convert most formats, but verify dates after import.

  1. Open Kintraks and go to Reports
  2. Select Export Data
  3. Choose Comma Delimited (CSV)
  4. Check all data types to export
  5. Upload the CSV to BunnySync

Special Considerations:

  • Kintraks groups data differently - review mappings carefully
  • Medical records may need manual review
  • Financial data imports separately

Global Pedigree requires a two-step process:

  1. Export rabbits to Excel format
  2. Export pedigree data separately
  3. Combine in our template
  4. Import combined file

Import Limits & Considerations

Size Limits
  • Max file size: 10MB
  • Max records per import: 5,000
  • Max columns: 50
  • Processing time: ~1 minute per 100 records

Common Import Issues

Frequent Problems & Solutions
  1. Duplicate Names: Add numbers or prefixes to make unique
  2. Invalid Dates: Check format matches MM/DD/YYYY
  3. Missing Required Fields: Name and Sex are mandatory
  4. Parent Not Found: Import parents first or leave blank
  5. File Too Large: Split into multiple imports

After Import Checklist
